Ecstasy found to have cancer-fighting powers

Could the popular but illegal drug Ecstasy actually have some value as a cancer-fighting agent?

Researchers at University of Birmingham in England said they have found a way to unleash the drug's cancer-fighting power, making it a viable treatment for leukemia, lymphoma and other cancers.

Doctors have known Ecstasy has been effective in fighting many white blood cell cancers, but the necessary dose has been lethal to patients.

Now scientists are working to create the so-called designer drug in a safe form, but they say that could take years.
