Marijuana plants found in El Monte building

An investigation is under way in El Monte, where several marijuana plants were discovered in a building on Monday.

Los Angeles County firefighters discovered the plants after a report of a fire at the building, which is located in the 2400 block of North Chico Avenue.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's narcotics department is investigating the case.

There was no word on any arrests.
