Two wildfires in the Cajon Pass destroyed one house, two cargo containers, three small structures on a ranch and 350 acres.

The fire began along northbound lanes of Interstate 15, spreading toward a ranch and burning a power pole, which then sparked a small, 3- to 4-acre fire.

On Tuesday, one northbound lane of the freeway remained closed from Kenwood Avenue and Cleghorn Road.

The blaze is about 40 percent contained. Fire officials said they hope to have the fire fully contained by Tuesday night.

A firefighter suffered a knee injury and a resident at the ranch who became ill during the fire were taken to the hospital for treatment.
