Study: Salt, inactivity may be bad for brain


Canadian researchers looked at the salt intake and physical activity levels of more than 1,200 healthy men and women from ages 67 to 84 over three years.

They found those with sodium levels of 3,000 milligrams a day and higher and an inactive lifestyle tended to show poorer cognitive performance.

The head researcher said baby boomers need to know sitting on the couch for long periods of time and eating salty snacks is not good for them.
