Police seek Oxnard park sexual assault suspect

A woman was sexually assaulted in Sierra Linda Park Sunday at approximately 8:30 p.m. The suspect fled the area and remained at large Monday.

An adult male suspect confronted the woman in the area of the park, pushed her down and sexually assaulted her, according to the Oxnard Police Department.

The woman fought against the attacker and screamed. The suspect fled the area on foot, according to the department, and drove away.

The car was described as a sedan similar in style to a Honda Accord, but the color was not known. The suspect was last seen driving on Holly Avenue toward Ventura Road.

The suspect was described as an adult male standing 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, wearing a dark baseball hat, a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
