Authorities responded to the area of Valerio Street and Haskell Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. to reports of a man with a gun. Police say the suspect was threatening to shoot people.
Nearby streets were being closed, including Haskell Avenue, and neighbors in the area were being evacuated.
SWAT officers fired eight teargas rounds, which forced the suspect to go outside. He was arrested and will be charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
