State park officials had planned to close the beach in Oxnard after Labor Day, because the state could not afford a $500,000 sewer line replacement.
California state parks announced Wednesday that the beach will stay open until Nov. 1, and it will commit $100,000 to repairs and apply for a $250,000 federal grant.
Money from local governments and other donations could cover the rest of the costs.
