Fallen LA deputy remembered on anniversary

LOS ANGELES

Deputy Jake Kuredjian was shot and killed as he helped the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in delivering a search warrant at a home in Stevenson Ranch.

The suspect later died inside his burning home.

On Aug. 31, family members joined fire and law enforcement personnel and local officials in a tribute to Kuredjian.

"We are grateful that after 10 years, Jake continues to live in the hearts of all of you. Thank you," said Kuredjian's brother, Raffi Kuredjian, who is also a deputy for the L.A. Sheriff's Department.

The ceremony took place at a memorial park, dedicated to the 40-year-old deputy, who was a 17-year veteran of the L.A. Sheriff's Department.
