Officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said a hiker found the body next to a car in a rural area by Old Topanga Canyon Road and Mulholland Highway about 4 p.m.
Sheriff's homicide detectives were unable to positively identify the victim. He was described as an African-American man. His identity will have to be determined by the Coroner's office.
Detectives said there were no signs of foul play.
