Crews make progress with lightning-caused fires in Central Calif.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.

Three groupings of wildfires in Kern County covered 95 square miles.

The 24,100-acre Comanche complex of fires is 60 percent contained. That's up from 30-percent containment Monday.

The fires forced the evacuation of several hundred homes. A mandatory evacuation order is in place for parts of Stallion Springs.

The 7,705-acre Keene Complex of five fires near Tehachapi was 87 percent contained late Monday. No structures have been damaged or destroyed.

In northern Kern County, the 29,383-acre Breckenridge Complex remained 30 percent contained and was burning in Sequoia National Forest and other federal land Monday night.
