An officer saw the bear and described it as a large adult. Police were up in a helicopter tracking the bear and trying to lead it back into the woods.
The bear was first spotted Tuesday night running around a neighborhood and going through garbage cans.
Wednesday is trash day and the bear did knock over a few cans. Eventually, it was chased back into the foothills.
A unit will continue to patrol the area.
