Body found near area where swimmer went missing

A body was discovered Thursday on the west jetty of the Anaheim Bay, close to where a swimmer was reported missing.

A patrol boat from the U.S. Naval Weapons Station, Seal Beach found the body and notified Seal Beach police at 3:25 p.m.

The identity of the body has not been confirmed, officials said.

Jowayne Binford, 26, of Long Beach, was reported missing near the area on Aug. 31. after he went body surfing with some friends.
