September 16, 2011 12:00:00 AM PDT
A public affairs official at a Tucson Air Force base said no shots were fired, but traffic to the base was limited due to an unspecified security situation.

A base spokesman said traffic was reduced to a single-point entry. Cars were lined up at the base's main gate and were being turned around.

Schools on the base were under lockdown.

Davis-Monthan is adjacent to the Pima Air & Space Museum and the "boneyard" for old military and government airplanes that is a popular destination for aviation enthusiasts.
