Police said officers responded late Friday to reports of an electrical transformer producing sparks in the 4300 block of West 101st Street
At the base of the power pole, the officers found a man and his juvenile daughter with burns to their upper body.
Investigators said the pair received shocks while trying to steal utility power.
Southern California Edison is assisting with the investigation.
