11th person dies in Nevada air race crash

RENO, Nev.

Police spokeswoman Michele Anderson the victim had not been identified. It did not appear the person died at a local hospital.

A spokesman for the medical examiner's office said officials have been trying to identify body parts since the Friday afternoon accident.

The WWII-era P-51 Mustang fighter plane crashed at the National Championship Air Races at Reno-Stead Airport. Among those killed was the 74-year-old pilot, veteran Hollywood stunt pilot Jimmy Leeward.

The dramatic injury toll was stoking fears across the nation, as relatives and friends flooded Reno officials with inquiries about the whereabouts of spectators.

Emergency officials were trying to compile a list of missing people Tuesday.
