Public meetings to be held for post office closures

HUNTINGTON PARK, Calif.

On Thursday, the first of 11 public meetings on post offices up for closure kicks off in Huntington Park, where two branches are on the chopping block: The Soto Post Office and the State Street Station.

The U.S. Postal Service is looking for ways to reduce its deficit. It lost $8.5 billion last year and faces more red ink this year.
