An ordinance is in the works that would require significantly more bike parking at apartment buildings and commercial businesses.
The measure is part of the city's new bike master plan, signed into law back in March.
A city planner said the proposed ordinance will make a distinction between short- and long-term bike parking.
It would also allow businesses to transform up to two car parking spaces into bicycle parking.
