A private memorial was held at Stanford University to honor Apple co-founder Steve Jobs on Sunday.

Security was tight at the memorial service. Silicon Valley's top technology leaders attended the service at the university's Memorial Church.

Former Vice President Al Gore and Rupert Murdoch were among those in attendance.

The service came on the same day Gov. Jerry Brown dedicated Oct. 16 "Steve Jobs Day" in California.

Jobs died Oct. 5 after struggling with pancreatic cancer. He was 56 years old.
