Henry Simmons takes on comedy in 'Man Up!'

LOS ANGELES

The ensemble cast brings a familiar face back to ABC. But this time, Henry Simmons has left the force at "NYPD Blue" for the comedy beat.

"Man Up!" focuses on a group of men trying to find their way in the world. They all have responsibilities, like work and family. But they can't seem to quite grow up enough to leave things, like friends and their video games, behind.

This ensemble cast includes Simmons as the new boyfriend of one man's ex.

"I've read a lot of comedy scripts before and they've been funny but I could never see myself in them," said Simmons. "This is one comedy script that I read it and it was funny from the first page to the last and I connected, I knew the character and I said, 'I can see myself playing this character.'"

Simmons has done everything from daytime, drama, and comedy. It seems like the road doesn't stop for him.

"That's what I love about being an actor because you have so many different careers," said Simmons. "I think if you just continue to work and continue to believe that it just going to keep going, it does. It just seems like... I don't think there's one road and it stops there, another road starts. And I'm just curious to see what's going to happen next."

One thing Simmons says viewers can look forward to seeing is some shirtless scenes.
