The incident happened around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of West 104th Street.
California Highway Patrol officers said the boy suffered major injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Witnesses told authorities the hit-and-run driver was in a dark-colored Nissan Altima that had damage on the right side.
