3 arrested for bogus iPhone parts worth $250K

LOS ANGELES

Working on information provided by Apple Inc., detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department conducted a three month investigation into alleged counterfeit iPhone parts being sold on various websites.

Detectives served search warrants on Thursday at five locations in Walnut, Rowland Heights and Covina.

All three suspects were booked and are being held in lieu of $100,000. Their names were withheld due to the ongoing investigation.

Detectives said they believe the parts were imported from China.
