An event held Tuesday in Irvine offered parents free inspections of safety seats and booster seats.
Teams of certified child passenger safety technicians and trained volunteers provided the inspections, thanks to Toyota and SafetyBeltSafe USA.
SafetyBeltSafe USA is a non-profit dedicated to improving child passenger safety.
According to the California Highway Patrol, more than 80 percent of children killed in car crashes would have survived if they were properly buckled up.
