Man rescued from hollow tree in Laguna Hills

LAGUNA HILLS, Calif.

Members of the Orange County Fire Authority were dispatched on an "emotional problems" call about 11:10 a.m. Tuesday to an area near Los Alisos Boulevard and Paseo De Valencia in Laguna Hills. Reports from Orange County Sheriff's deputies on scene indicated that a man was stuck in the hollow of a tree in a dry creek bed.

Crews were able to stabilize the tree and cut a branch so the man could be extricated.

The man was successfully extricated just after noon. He was treated on scene and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

It's not clear how the man ended up inside the tree.
