Rare wine is Leon Panetta's reward for bin Laden

WASHINGTON

Ted Balestreri, a California restaurateur and longtime friend, made a bet with Panetta when he was CIA director.

Balestreri said if Panetta "catches" Osama bin Laden, he would open the oldest bottle of wine at his restaurant.

It's an 1870 Chateau Lafite Rothschild, and it's valued at about $10,000.

Five months after the bet, bin Laden was killed by U.S. forces.

Panetta and his wife said if their schedule allows it, they'll be up for a sip.
