Study: Drinking red wine could help in weight loss

LOS ANGELES

A new study suggests that the same red wine compound that is good for the heart may also be good for weight loss.

Researchers looked at 11 obese, but otherwise healthy, men over a 30-day period.

Some were treated with resveratrol, which is naturally found in red grapes. The others got a placebo.

Researchers say the men with the grape compound had significantly improved metabolic rate compared to those on a strict low-calorie diet.
