Suspicious devices found in West Hills home

WEST HILLS, LOS ANGELES

Authorities said the unknown devices were discovered around 7:15 a.m. in a home on the 6600 block of Royer Avenue, which is near the Woodland Hills border.

Officials said earlier in the day, the Los Angeles Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children unit went into the home with a search warrant. They were searching for a computer that may have been used to download child pornography.

When the officers went in, they discovered cylindrical devices that they believed could have been explosive.

They then cleared everybody out of the house and evacuated 20 homes in the immediate area.

A bomb squad was sent to the scene to investigate.

"They have since entered, assessed the items and made their evaluation that there are no explosives inside those items," said Capt. Fabian Lizarraga of the /*Los Angeles Police Department*/.

No arrests have been made. Authorities said their investigation is ongoing.
