Sugary drinks raise diabetes, high cholesterol risk in women

LOS ANGELES

According to a study out of the University of Oklahoma, women who consume as little as two sweetened drinks a day are four times more likely to develop diabetes and high cholesterol.

The same results were not seen in men. Researchers believe that's because women need fewer calories than men to develop negative impacts from sugary drinks.
