A lawsuit has been filed against the country band Sugarland for the deadly collapse of a stage where they were getting ready to perform.

The incident happened in August at the Indiana State Fair during a strong windstorm.

Seven people were killed and more than 40 were injured.

Twelve other defendants have been named in the lawsuit, which represents several dozen victims.

An attorney for the plaintiffs said Sugarland's contract gave the band final say on whether to cancel the performance.
