FBI seeks 'Bubble Wrap Bandit' bank robber

GARDEN GROVE, Calif.

The FBI says the suspect walked into a US Bank on the 12100 block of Valley View St. in Garden Grove Tuesday and handed a demand note to a teller.

Investigators believe the same suspect robbed a bank in Anaheim in September and four Los Angeles banks in the last two years.

The FBI dubbed the suspect the "Bubble Wrap Bandit" because he was seen carrying bubble wrap during an earlier robbery.

The suspect is described as an American Samoan male standing between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing between 225 to 260 pounds, approximately 35 to 45 years old. He was seen in two vehicles: a newer model charcoal gray Volkswagen Passat with yellow paper plates, and a gray 2-door Nissan Altima.

The suspect has allegedly threatened to use a weapon.

Anyone with information on the robberies should call the FBI at (888) 226-8443.
