According to the /*Los Angeles Police Department*/, officers stopped a man during a routine pedestrian stop for reasons that could range from the man being a person of interest in a crime or being wanted for questioning.
The man apparently pulled out a gun at some point during the incident, which happened at about 8 p.m. Friday.
Police fired at the man, who died Saturday at County-USC Medical Center.
His identity was not immediately released, but he is said to be about 28 years old.
