Suspect arrested in fatal downtown Redlands shooting

REDLANDS, Calif.

Redlands Police detectives, San Bernardino police and sheriff's SWAT personnel arrested San Bernardino resident Randy Ortis, 22, at 2 a.m. Thursday.

Ortis is suspected of fatally shooting a person in front of Charlie Jewell's Restaurant and Bar in downtown Redlands in the early morning of Nov. 19.

Surveillance video was previously released showing the shooting in hopes of identifying suspects.

Investigators were led to Ortis, and a search warrant was obtained for a residence on the 5500 block of Bonnie Street in unincorporated San Bernardino County. Ortis was arrested without incident.

Authorities were seeking other suspects. The shooting remained under investigation Monday.
