Players need to officially approve NBA labor deal

November 28, 2011 12:00:00 AM PST
The start of the National Basketball Association season is less than a month away -- assuming, that is, the players approve a tentative labor deal reached over the holiday weekend.

It's a case of better late than never for fans, and the businesses that count on them.

Business at most restaurants around L.A. Live is down about 30 percent without Lakers and Clippers fans coming through.

On sports radio Monday, fans were finally able to burn up the lines to talk about Lakers championship hopes and the Clippers' chances of making the playoffs, instead of the usual talk of the nearly five-month-long lockout.
