Otter pup arrives at San Diego SeaWorld

December 3, 2011 12:00:00 AM PST
A sea otter pup arrived at her new permanent home at SeaWorld in San Diego.

The pup was a newborn when she was found stranded on a beach near Santa Barbara, separated from her mother.

She was treated for an infection at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

She is not releasable, but she will join SeaWorld's otter population in a few weeks.

In the meantime, she is comfortable with her new handlers and enjoying the attention.

She is 3 months old and weighs 13 pounds.
