NASA searching for astronaut applicants

LOS ANGELES

Now that the space shuttle program has ended, the space agency is seeking applicants for a new astronaut class.

In addition to working on the International Space Station, they will help design the Orion spacecraft, which will be used to send astronaut crews beyond low Earth orbit.

NASA is also developing a heavy lift rocket for exploring deeper into space.

Applications are being accepted until Jan. 27, 2012. To apply, applicants need to submit their application at www.USAjobs.gov under the job assignment number JS12A0001.
