A Simi Valley police officer on patrol found a vehicle parked on the south shoulder in front of a business at 3990 Royal Ave. in Simi Valley Thursday morning.
An unconscious and unresponsive man was in the driver's seat of the vehicle. Fire Dept. and ambulance personnel were summoned to treat the victim.
The 76-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not identify the man.
Police detectives and a medical examiner responded to the scene.
Police said there was no indication of a traffic collision or foul play.
The cause of the man's death was under investigation by the medical examiner's office.
