Jefferdick Vega, 29, was taken into custody after people reported a suspicious man knocking on doors in the 800 block of Ocean Park Boulevard.
Vega was driving a stolen Toyota Previa Minivan that matched the description of the suspect vehicle in the kidnapping attempt from Sunday morning.
The girl who said Vega tried to kidnap her was able to run away.
