Both shootings took place late Saturday night.
In the first shooting, the gunman walked up to a man in the 4100 block of Chevy Chase Drive, shot him and ran off. The unidentified victim was transported to County-USC Medical Center. There was no word on his condition.
In the second shooting, a group of suspects walked into a house party nearby in the 4000 block of La Clede Avenue, fired shots into a group of people and took off.
Two men were wounded in the gunfire and they were transported to County-USC Medical Center for treatment.
Police do not have a motive for either shooting but say they are not related.
