3.6-magnitude earthquake hits near Ontario

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.6 shook part of the Inland Empire early Tuesday morning.

The temblor was one mile deep and struck five miles southeast of Ontario at approximately 12:32 a.m. PT, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Eyewitness News viewers reported feeling a quick jolt in nearby areas, including Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, Norco and Upland.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
