Portland man arrested for drunken driving

PORTLAND, Ore.

Police say they found Daniel Sherman passed out behind the wheel.

He'd been driving with his three kids; ages 3, 9 and 12.

The 12-year-old boy texted his grandma, saying his dad was drunk. Grandma then called police.

"I texted my grandma and said he's drunk driving. And then she called. And then a couple minutes later we ran out of gas. And then the cops showed up," said the boy.

Sherman is facing charges of drunk driving, reckless driving and reckless endangerment.

The children have been turned over to grandma.
