It happened as officers responded to a disturbance call on the 1100 block of south Mohave Drive.
Authorities said officers used a stun gun on 43-year-old Hutalio Serrano after he resisted arrest. While in custody, Serrano suffered some type of medical emergency.
He was taken to the hospital where he later died. An autopsy is planned to determine the cause of death.
