Kids w/ nurturing mothers may be smarter

A study by Washington University found that kids with nurturing moms learn more and handle stress better than others.

Being affectionate toward babies does more than make them feel good, it may also make them smarter

A study led by a Washington University professor found that kids whose mothers were nurturing and loving had a larger hippocampus, the part of the brain involved in learning. It's also the area that controls your response to stress.

Researchers found the same kids handled frustration better than children who didn't get as much affection.
