Officer collides with motorcyclist in Sun Valley

A Los Angeles police officer crashed with one of several hundred motorcyclists riding in a bloc in Sun Valley on Sunday.

According to the LAPD, the officer was attempting to stop the biker on reckless driving.

The 27-year-old victim was taken to Pacific Hospital with minor injuries. The biker was part of the Red Line biker annual ride, which saw between 300 and 400 bikers.

The crash was reported at 2:07 p.m. at Stonehurst Avenue and Sunland Boulevard, according to Officer Karen Rayner of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers were clearing the scene as of 2:30 p.m.
