A man who plowed into a Metro bus platform, critically injuring six people Wednesday, failed a field sobriety test right after the crash.

California Highway Patrol officials said the driver, Steven Lubin of Sun Valley, was driving 80 mph just before the crash.

Lubin swerved to avoid hitting a bus and slammed into the crowd at the platform on the northbound 110 Freeway near the 105 Freeway.

The six victims remain hospitalized.
