A representative for the Academy said its contract with the owner of Hollywood & Highland Center runs through the 2013 show. Negotiations are ongoing as to where the ceremony might take place after that.
The venue, formerly known as the Kodak Theatre, opened in 2001 to be the permanent home of Hollywood's biggest awards ceremony. Eastman Kodak Co. filed for bankruptcy protection and dropped its name from the event just before this year's Oscars were handed out.
