Police said they received a call of a robbery in progress around 7 a.m. on the 8300 block of Penfield Avenue.
The victim told officers the suspect broke into her home, tied her up and sexually assaulted her. She was taken to the hospital and treated for her injuries.
The suspect remains on the loose. Anyone with information was urged to call the Los Angeles Police Department at 1-877-LAPD-24-7.
