The 34-year-old actor is reportedly the 500th customer to sign up for Virgin Galatic's space program. The company, founded by billionaire Richard Branson, is in the final stages of its test flight program.
Branson has said the aim is to one day make traveling to space safe and affordable for the masses, not just those who can afford the current $200,000 ticket price.
Virgin plans to start commercial operations at a New Mexico spaceport in 2013. Branson and his children plan to take the first flight into space.
