Lancaster computer store owner fatally shot

LANCASTER, Calif.

A white sheet covered the door to Chaps Computer and More, owned by 58-year-old Reed Lewis Keith who was killed during the armed robbery Friday in broad daylight.

A potential barricade situation was reported at about 11 p.m. in the 43000 block of Grange Street. The standoff was believed to be related to the suspect in the case.

While finding the suspect would bring loved ones closure, Keith's family members remain stunned by his death.

"I'm still pretty guarded, I'm trying to keep everything as suppressed as I can at this point," said Casey Keith, the victim's daughter.

Investigators believe computer gear was the robber's motive.

Sheriff's officials said the suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a ski mask. Authorities also said there was a getaway driver and described the vehicle as a black 1980s four-door sedan.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the L.A. County Sheriff's Department Lancaster Division.
