The shooting in the 15900 block of Hill Street was reported at 3:54 a.m. However, neighbors said they heard gunshots around 2 a.m. The victim, identified as Ellis "Ray" Rachal, was declared dead at the scene.
The victim's wife, Michelle Rachal, said her husband would spend time with friends on the weekend but would always be home early.
"He was just a really sweet person," Rachal said. "He will be missed and I hope whoever did this that they realize they took something great from the lives of me and my children and my family."
