Authorities say the thief entered the bank, located on 204 E. Sixth St., through the side doors and waited in line before approaching the teller with a demand note stating that he had a weapon and wanted cash.
"The teller complied with the demands and gave the suspect an undetermined amount of U.S. currency," said Corona Police Chief Police Michael E. Abe.
The suspect then fled out the south side doors to Romona Avenue and was last seen going eastbound on Seventh Street, Abe said.
According to officials, no one was injured during the incident, and no weapon or suspect vehicle was present at the scene.
The suspect was described as an approximately 50- to 60-year-old white male, 5' 8'' tall and weighing about 200 lbs. He had a gray goatee and was wearing a black hat, black sunglasses, blue-white Pendleton type jacket and black pants with a white stripe on the side.
