South LA double shooting gunman on the run

SOUTH LOS ANGELES

Authorities say the gunman forced his way into a home near 99th and Main streets Jan. 28 and opened fire on a 23-year-old man walking down the stairs. The suspect then dragged the man outside and shot him several times, once in the head.

When the victim's mother came forward and pleaded for the suspect to stop, the suspect also shot her multiple times.

The victim remains hospitalized with permanent brain damage. His mother, meantime, is listed in stable condition.

Four children were also in the house at the time, but they were not hurt.

The gunman is described as a black male with light complexion, between 20 and 30 years old, about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 150 to 200 pounds.
